Valerie Parizeault - kidlit author & illustrator

Valerie Parizeault is an illustrator and author originally from Montreal, Canada, now creating from the Acadian coastal town of Shediac, New Brunswick. She specializes in picture book illustration and is drawn to middle grade fiction and editorial projects.

Valerie has two picture books set for release in 2026 (Éditions Bouton d’or Acadie and Québec-Amérique) and has illustrated editorial pieces for children's magazines (Honest History, BrainSpace Magazine, Grilled Cheese). She has also written and illustrated two published short stories (Grilled Cheese). Her work blends traditional and digital techniques to create illustrations that feel both timeless and contemporary, with rich textures and dynamic energy.

Beyond illustration, she is a versatile visual storyteller, capable of crafting compelling brand identities, licensing-ready artwork, and immersive, narrative-driven designs. She thrives on collaboration and is always eager to explore new creative challenges.

With 20 years of experience in graphic design and art direction, she brings a solid artistic eye to every project. Holding a degree in Graphic Design and a Bachelor's in Visual Art from Université du Québec à Montréal, she has collaborated with a diverse range of clients, crafting compelling visual narratives across various industries.

When she's not at her drawing table with an iced coffee in hand, Valerie can be found taking inspiration walks with her black Lab, Java, along the Maritime coastline. She works in both English and French.
